This Privacy Policy explains what data Mend ("we," "us," the "app") collects, why, where it is stored, and the choices you have. Mend is a mood-tracking, journaling, and AI-coaching app. We built it to be private by design and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
| Data | Why | Where it's stored |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | To create and secure your account and let you sign in across devices. | Supabase (our authentication and database provider). |
| User content — mood logs, journal/notes, and messages you send to the AI coach | To save your entries, sync them to your account, and generate AI-coach replies, insights, and reflections. | Stored in Supabase under your account. Content is also sent to Google's Gemini API to generate AI responses (see Section 3). |
| User identifier | To associate your data with your account and your subscription entitlement. | Supabase and RevenueCat. |
| Purchase history — your Mend Pro subscription status | To unlock Pro features and restore purchases. | RevenueCat and Apple. We never receive or store your payment-card details. |
If you connect Apple Health, Mend reads metrics such as sleep, steps, and heart-rate variability to show you correlations with your mood. This health data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties. You can revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Settings or Health app.
We use the data above solely to provide app functionality: maintaining your account, saving and syncing your entries, generating AI-coach responses and insights, and managing your subscription. We do not:
Mend relies on a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf:
Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms. We share with them only what is necessary to operate the corresponding feature.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing annabelle.le.anh@gmail.com from your account address. Content stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS, and cloud-stored data is protected by our providers' encryption and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit collection to what the app needs and restrict access to your data.
Mend is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email annabelle.le.anh@gmail.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by an in-app notice.
